Federal Government Releases Report on Pharmacist Shortage

Last spring, PHPC, the National Association of Public Hospitals (NAPH), and the University Health System Consortium (UHC) issued a joint report that demonstrated a serious shortage of pharmacists and technicians at the nation's safety net hospitals and health systems.   In December 2000, the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) completed a study to determine to what extent there is a pharmacist shortage.  Comments on the study made by PHPC/NAPH/UHC are included in the report.
