OPA Extends Deadline to Respond to DSH Eligibility
On August 18, 2009, the Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) notified several DSH hospitals that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reported that the disproportionate share adjustment percentage of the hospital had fallen below the required 11.75. OPA requested that that the hospitals submit letters from their hospital’s Chief Financial Officer certifying that the current adjustment percentage is greater than 11.75. This should be accompanied by a copy of Worksheet E, Part A from the hospital’s most recently filed Medicare Cost Report, demonstrating continued eligibility for the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
OPA has extended the deadline from September 1 to December 1, 2009 to allow hospitals adequate time to prepare and submit the documentation requested.
Letters are being sent to each of the hospitals informing them of the extended report date. The information is also being posted on the OPA Web site.
