Arizona Medicaid Seeks Information on Specialty Pharmacy for Biologics
The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), the state’s Medicaid program, published a Request for Information last month, asking 340B providers to propose ways to offer prescriptions of biological drugs through a sole source contract. Under the proposal floated by the state, AHCCCS would pay any contracting provider or providers at actual acquisition cost for drug products, plus a separate fee to cover the costs of dispensing, care management, and associated supplies. Responses to the request are due May 28.
The RFI is posted at http://www.ahcccs.state.az.us/Contracting/OpenRFIs/YH09-0041/RFI_YH09-0041.pdf.
Five hard copies of responses should be sent to Jamey Schultz at the AHCCS Contracts and Purchasing Section, 701 Jefferson Street, MD5700, Phoenix, AZ 85034. Ms. Schultz can be contacted at Jamey.Schultz@azahcccs.gov or (602) 417-4629.
